Silverdale Train Service
Silverdale is lucky to have a train service. Unfortunately at times the service has been very unreliable. Strikes have been a regular feature. Cancellations due to staff shortages and a multitude of other excuses are common. And then timetable changes in June 2018 resulted in chaos. Trying to find out how bad things really were I found the official statistics to be of little help as they are often based on revised timetables, introduced at short notice, with a reduced service. I therefore decided to start collecting my own records so that a real picture could be obtained of how the service is performing. These pages are the result.
Covid-19: Between 24 March 2020 - 13 September 20, 18 January 2021 - 15 May 2021, and 4 January 2022 - 14 May 2022, a reduced service ran based on "temporary" timetables. During these periods, the site has continued to monitor against the National Rail Timetables which are normally updated twice a year in May and December.
